The basics of starting a health foundation for all flight crews.
The top 3 benefits for pilots are:
1) Flight Review replacement: When a pilot completes a phase of WINGS, it satisfies the FAA Flight Review requirement under 14 CFR 61.56 for 24 calendar months.
2) Insurance and risk-management value: Several aviation insurers recognize WINGS participation as evidence of lower operational risk. MHHC is partnered with Avemco aviation Insurance, just let your representative know you completed the Mile High Health Club Flight Crew Health Course!
3) Documented proficiency and professional credibility: WINGS credits build a history of recurrent training inside the FAAST system. That can help with: Employment applications, insurance reviews, flight department hiring, safety culture demonstration, standardization programs, and professional development portfolios.
The top 3 benefits for AMTs are:
1) Credit toward the Aviation Maintenance Technician Awards Program (Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels), resulting in FAA Certificates of Training and formal recognition.
2) Provides documented evidence of recurrent training, strengthens a resume, demonstrates commitment to the profession, and supports promotion opportunities.
3) Most FAAST AMT training focuses on technical skills, while the Flight Crew Health Course provides education that can improve physical and cognitive performance knowledge, human factors, aviation safety, and maintenance best-practice training. Maintenance errors are often tied to fatigue, communication, stress, decision-making, and performance factors.
You don't have to wait! Upon completion of the end of course quiz your credit is automatically granted to your FAAST account. Make sure you use the correct email linked to your FAAST account when prompted.
The full course is about 8 hours of health education. The time to complete integrated workshops will vary person to person depending on how dedicated you are to your health! Expect an additional 1-2 hours to complete all workshops.
Of course not! Let's be realistic, aviation and life schedules are chaotic. The Flight Crew Health Course was designed with that in mind. Each module has individual lesson videos that range in times between 3-20 minutes. Once a lesson is complete the app automatically checks it off for you so you never lose your place and you can come back when you're ready for more!
